Gingerbread family jewellery

I bought a new orange dress the other day and thought that my little gingerbread family would go well with it,  what do you think?  I bought the gingerbread man ring from a shop called Papyrus on Byres road in Glasgow. I then got the gingerbread girl necklace and ring as a present.. I love wearing the two rings together like they're a wee couple..

March interview with Rachel

This Month my friend Rachel is going to let us in on some of her jewellery favourites..

1.  What is your favourite piece and why?

This vintage diamanté and pearl necklace. It was my granny's, so it's got lots of sentimental value.

2.  Most worn piece?

It's a cliche but it's my white gold wedding band. I've been married for eight years in April, and I've worn it every day. I love that it's so plain, which means I can wear it with anything.

3.  Best gift?

My Tiffany's silver heart bracelet. My lovely friend Alice bought this for me, for absolutely no reason at all - she's a very generous person! This would be a close second for most worn - it's a bit bashed up now as I've had it for years and years, but it never ages. A total classic.

4.  Favourite shop or designer?

Fave shop for a jewellery browse here in Edinburgh is Harvey Nics - I treated myself to this BCBG Max Azria ring last year, then went back and got the matching bracelet! Double treat! I'm just getting into wearing more gold jewellery.

5.  Piece you want?

I don't have a photo as I haven't found it yet, but I'd love a perfect diamond and ruby eternity ring to dress up my wedding band when the occasion requires....watch this space!!

6.  Most complimented Piece?

recently I've been wearing this necklace a lot, and get complimented on it practically every time! It cost me a couple of quid from Primark, but I always just smile knowingly and say 'thanks'!

A big thank you to Rachel for sharing all her jewellery stories

if you would like to share your jewellery stories then please just let me know, I love hearing all the different stories behind the jewellery

Necklace and ring made from vinyl records

I bought this necklace from 'Vinyl Justice' at a 'Granny would be proud' fair. They had lots of different shapes and sizes of jewellery made from vinyl records,  including some made from coloured vinyl.. I went for the one that had the picture of the dog on it. I was there with my friend Sacha who bought me the matching ring.

Jewellery storage

Many people ask me where I keep all my jewellery,  I used to keep it in boxes but then I would forget what I had,  so now I hang them on hooks on the wall so I can easily see the colours etc. to pick what I want to wear.. I also have some special holders for my earrings and lots of bowls for all my rings, bracelets, bangles and badges/brooches.. How do you store yours?
